The first meeting was a great success! Mr. Cutrona and I couldn't be more pleased with the turn out of students, thank you so much for coming and sharing your ideas. Here is a bit of the information we covered at the meeting:
- Photo & Graphic Design Lab Availability
- Senior Photo and Graphic Design students will be available after school on posted days for art club members to make use of the facilities. Sign ups and availability will be located on the Art Club bulletin board located at the end of the art wing hallway (next to the stairway). Only seniors enrolled in Photography or any level student in Art Club may have access to the darkroom!!!! OPEN PHOTO & GRAPHICS LAB FOR ART CLUB MEMBERS WILL BEGIN OCT. 19TH.
- Fundraisers for Field Trips
- In order to go on fantastic Arts related field trips (Concerts, Museum & Gallery trips, Art Schools, Broadway Plays) we'll need to raise some money first! We have gathered a variety of ideas such as bake sales, car wash, art sale/auctions, cardmaking, ornament making, calendar sales, etc.
- Workshops
- Want to teach your fellow art club members/classmates how to play the guitar, make origami, write a haiku, or carve pumpkins? Student run workshops will be available when interest is shown. Don't be shy to share your interests with the art club!
- T-Shirt Printing
- When decided we'll be printing the Art Club Logos on tshirts, sweatshirts, bags, etc. Come to the workshop to learn out to screen print with us!
- Portfolio prep
- Interested in going to school for art, writing, or music but don't have any clue on how to get started or put together a portfolio? High Point teachers want to help you!
- Officers
- We compiled a list of volunteers to serve as Art club officers for the various concentrations (Art, Music, Writing...) and with the help of Ms. Hodgins, Ms. Meyers, Ms.Strout, & Mr. Dearolf we will elect the students to the respective positions by October 22nd.
- Art Club Logo/Slogan
- SUBMISSIONS DUE OCTOBER 22ND!!!! If you want to be one of the lucky people to have their design or slogan chosen to represent the High Point Art Club Email, Drop off in the art office , or put in the Art Club Box in room 241 for Mr. Cutrona, Ms. Stanek!
NEXT MEETING!
Next Thursday October 15th. This meeting will serve as another info session for students who were unable to make it to today's meeting. We'll continue discussion plans for the year, logo designs, officer elections, etc.
